This Privacy Policy explains how BuyTheBar collects, uses, and shares information when you create an account, apply as a bartender, browse profiles, or use marketplace features as they become available.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information, including your name, email address, username, password credential, and authentication provider details.
- Bartender application information, including profile photo URL, biography, specialties, service regions, certifications, experience, rates, company details, and application status.
- Booking information if booking features are enabled, such as event date, time, location, guest count, notes, and booking status.
- Technical information used to operate the service, such as session cookies, request logs, device or browser details, and security events.
- Communications you send to us, including support questions and feedback.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, secure, and support your account.
- Review bartender applications and publish approved profiles.
- Prepare, operate, and improve marketplace and booking features.
- Send account, launch, security, and service-related communications.
- Detect misuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, and other service providers that help us operate BuyTheBar. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a merger, financing, or sale of the business.
Approved bartender profile information may be displayed publicly so hosts can evaluate bartenders. Account credentials are not displayed publicly.
4. Cookies and Authentication
BuyTheBar uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect accounts, remember session state, and operate the service. If you choose a third-party sign-in provider such as Google, that provider also processes information under its own privacy policy.
5. Data Retention and Security
We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You may also opt out of non-essential promotional messages using the unsubscribe instructions in those messages. We may still send service-related communications.
7. Children
BuyTheBar is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
